Greens Renovation
Characteristics of Great greens: True, Smooth, Firm, Consistent and Reliable make up the list for excellence. Our greens renovation, last fall, used Turf Grass Research conducted at the University of Wisconsin’s, O.J Noer Turf Grass Research and Educational Facility, located just off our property, north of the 5th green to achieve these excellent characteristics. Here is a brief of how we put the research to work for you:
- Superior turf quality starts with a superior seed selection. We chose 007 Creeping Bentgrass Seed. 007’s performance has been fantastic at the O.J. Noer Facility as well as across the country.
- 007 thrives in full sun, in areas of high air movement and with great surface and internal drainage. While some of our greens had one or two of these environmental conditions in place, many did not, so we started to improve each green site last fall and will continue our efforts in this area as we move forward.
- Consistent, sustainable great greens need a consistent maintenance program to insure they perform at their peak. We have implemented a program that has produced outstanding results at such noted courses as Augusta National, Merion, Medinah and Blackwolf Run.
Bottom line: we are committed to providing you great greens and we shall do all possible to achieve that goal.
